Welcome to The Tops Organic Retreat summer newsletter

With the festive season almost upon us and lots of last minute things to get done, here is a great gift idea.  We will personalise a gift voucher for that special person and when they come to stay we will take the greatest of care to ensure they have an excellent time.

Couples, families with young children or a group of young adults all have the best of time here at The Tops.

Vouchers are from $250 for one night for two adults, depending on availability.   One night is never enough so why not splash out and get a $500 voucher!

We can also do a mid-week 3-night special Sunday to Thursday for 20% off the standard price, now that is a bargain!
Romantic getaway for 2 -- a love nest at The Tops

Secluded loft cabin

The joy of giving is heightened by watching the pleasure on the face of the receiver!   So just imagine being able to give a special person a romantic getaway for 2 in magnificent surroundings.

Here bell birds serenade you and native animals peek out, often unseen, to watch you in the evenings and early mornings.

This nature lover's paradise is set on 2000 acres up in the beautiful Barrington Tops adjacent to the world heritage wilderness area.

Our loft cabins with high timber ceilings, king spa's, open log fires, and spacious romantic loft bedroom provide a great opportunity to get away from it all,  re-charge batteries and spend special time together.

While the cabins do have newly installed cooking facilities most guests want to take advantage of the organic restaurant where Chef Sharini prepares delicious organic meals from all areas of the world but is particularly known for the curries

The main building with restaurant, comfy seating and log fires

she makes from her homeland, Sri Lanka.  The restaurant is open for breakfast every day, and for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday. (outside of main holidays) Sharini prides herself on catering for all dietary requirements.

The Retreat has 50 kilometres of walking trails and 4WD tracks through rainforest and more open timbered country. Then of course there is the Dilgry River. This pristine, clear, cool water rises about 8kms higher up in the national park.  Trout fishing is ever popular, and although good size fish are caught, most get thrown back to 'live another day'.

The all weather flood-lit tennis court, salt water swimming pool, lily pond with canoes provides activities for all ages.

Lots of family fun at The Tops

The two-bedroom fully self contained family cottages also have spa baths and open fires for those chilly winter evenings.

John feeds the goose

Younger guests really enjoy petting the guinea pigs and rabbits, collecting chicken eggs, feeding goats, alpacas, ducks, geese, cows and horses and having the freedom to run, jump and explore the natural world -- and of course -- make good friends with other guests.

There is a trampoline to entertain youngsters, a play barn with swings, table tennis table and lots more.

John delights both young and old explaining about worms in his organic garden where so much of the food in the restaurant comes from, and some little people get to understand that not all food comes from the supermarket!

In special holiday times there are big bonfires, and lots of exciting things to do around the farm yard.

The Tops is a great base for exploring the area

Exploring the Barrington Tops National Park whether on foot or by vehicle gives a great idea of the vast and ruggedness of the terrain.  There are some terrific picnic spots, and short walks can be taken through an Antarctic Beech Forest at Honeysuckle and around the swamp at Pol Blue.

Horse riding

It is great to enjoy the countryside on horseback.  Rides are from 1 hour to a full day.  The rides leave the flats by the river and go up into the cool forest, then through open range lands and back down to the river where the horses enjoy a drink before the journey over the paddocks home.  What a way to spend the day.

The thrill of white water on the Barrington River is lots of fun for all ages and all grades.  There are quiet stretches suitable for younger paddlers and exciting areas for those more experienced, we also have a small lake on the property with canoes.
